Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IITD) and National Chiao Tung University Taiwan (NCTU) recognize their strengths in research and education in one or more disciplines of science, engineering, management and social sciences with their mutual interest in engaging themselves in academic cooperation.
Joint degree program will enable NCTU and IITD to enrol the brightest and most talented students in a joint PhD with joint supervision from both institutions. It is anticipated that the majority of students will be recruited into the joint-PhD program.
  • JDP students under this program has to spent 18 months in there host institution.
Joint degree program (JDP) is conducted jointly by two universities based on their existing programs. Students meeting the requirements and regulations from the participating universities and the JDP will receive recognition of the degree by both universities. Upon completion of the program requirements, students are awarded with a degree jointly by both the universities.

The collaboration will involve strong industry links supporting PhD students. Industry-supported PhD scholars will work on challenging research problems posed and defined by university industry partners. Industry supervisors will also advise their students, along with the NCTU and IITD supervisors.
This industry collaboration will allow for a additional top-up scheme to enable academics and postdoctoral fellows to spend time at each institution, expanding research links and offering career-development opportunities for early-career researchers with currently onboard partners like TSMC, MediaTek, Delta Electronics, Nuvoton, IBM, Applied Materials, Synopsys, Micron.
